Biography:

SHORT BIOGRAPHY - LOUIE LASKOWSKI

Born in Dayton, Ohio as Eileen Louise Horne. I attended Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, USA, and received a Bachelor and Master's degree in the Arts. At this time my name became Louie Laskowski. I was 4 years old when I began to challenge myself to color exceptionally well due to an incident when I was having my tonsils removed at a hospital. I continued to learn to raw and color and was very attracted to other children who drew. At 7, an artist's painting my father bought and brought home excited me. I could hardly believe paint could make such a lovely item. I studied thisis picture for years.

After college I became a high school art teacher and am still teaching. I professionally exhibit my work and compete in art competitions. There have been times that I have soul-searched for answers to the value of life and the making of art. My experiences have helped me to believe that art is about the inner-play between the soul, spirit, and physical self in search for greater understanding and the desire for human connection. Art for me is a manifested product that embodies this evolvement. I perceive that art brings together the skills and knowledge of the mind, heart, and body in order to create a greater wisdom. The art experience is both quest and reward.
